Public Library to Host 17th Annual Storytelling Festival March 1 - 31, 2026
Cumberland County Public Library (CCPL) will host its 17th annual Storytelling Festival from March 1 –- 31. The Storytelling Festival promotes literacy, encourages inclusion and sparks creativity for all community members. This free, month-long festival features stories and activities at multiple CCPL locations for children from birth to age 12, along with programs open to all ages. PWC adopts electric rate adjustments
Fayetteville, N.C.- At the February 25, 2026, Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) meeting, a public hearing was held regarding adjusting electric rates and PWC fees. Following public comment, the Board voted to adopt new rates and fees over a two-year period. The updated rates will apply to bills sent on or after May 1, 2026, while adjusted fees will be effective immediately. The rates are anticipated to increase PWC’s overall revenue by 5.5% in each of the next two years to cover the actual cost

Cumberland County Solid Waste Management will host a Cumberland Clean litter pick-up event on Saturday, March 7, at 9 a.m. at 575 Assembly Court in Fayetteville.
