SPRING LAKE, NC, March 10, 2026: AQ’S Corner, a family-centered digital safety and AI education initiative, announced that its 10-year-old co-founder, Emani Emanuel, received national recognition as an Elementary CyberHero. The recognition reflects a broader shift in how cybersecurity education and workforce development pathways are being understood: beginning earlier, becoming more accessible, and taking shape through real-world engagement.

The recognition was awarded by Savvy Cyber Kids, a national organization focused on youth cybersecurity education and digital safety since 2007. The honor was presented through the inaugural CyberHero Awards, a national initiative recognizing students at the elementary, middle school, high school, and college levels for their contributions to cybersecurity awareness and digital responsibility.

As a first-year program, the CyberHero Awards represent an important moment in defining how young people are recognized within the cybersecurity field. Selections were made through a review process involving industry professionals and leaders committed to advancing cybersecurity awareness and talent development.

Unlike traditional models that introduce cybersecurity concepts later in a student’s academic journey, AQ’S Corner focuses on early exposure, practical engagement, and real-world context. Through storytelling, hands-on learning, and participation in professional environments, young learners are not only introduced to cybersecurity concepts but also given opportunities to understand and apply them.

During the review process, a cybersecurity industry leader publicly noted that the strength of the submissions suggested a shift in how early cybersecurity pathways are being defined, stating that workforce development may begin as early as elementary school, “only half joking.”

This acknowledgment aligns with AQ’S Corner’s approach to building confidence, language, and exposure at an earlier stage. It demonstrates that young learners can meaningfully engage with concepts traditionally introduced much later.
