Early Voting in Cumberland County Oct. 17 – Nov. 2

Early voting for the November general election begins Oct. 17 and runs through Nov. 2 in Cumberland County. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. 

*The Board of Elections office, located in the E. Newton Smith Center at 227 Fountainhead Lane, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but is NOT an early voting site.

Citizens are encouraged to check their voter registration status using the Voter Search tool at vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup.
 
Voter Registration Requirements
To be eligible to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen; be at least 18 years old by the date of the general election; live in the county where you are registering at least 30 days prior to Election Day; and not be serving a felony sentence, including any probation, post-release supervision, or parole.
 
Voter ID
Voters will be required to show photo identification to vote in this election. Citizens who do not have a photo ID can get a free ID at the Board of Elections office. When a voter checks in to vote at a voting location, they will be asked to show an acceptable photo ID. Election workers will check to see if the picture on the ID reasonably resembles the voter. The address on the photo ID does not have to match the voter’s registration records.
 
Registration deadlines
The deadline to register to vote on Election Day in the 2024 general election is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. However, if you miss that deadline, you may still register and vote or make changes to your registration during the early voting period at any early voting site in Cumberland County.
