This entry-level position serves in an administrative support role for the Human Resources, Talent Development, Payroll and Benefits team, providing essential support to the department by managing employee records, assisting with recruitment (screening/scheduling), and processing payroll and/or benefits data. The Assistant acts as a point of contact for external inquiries, ensuring compliance with College policies and maintaining confidentiality.

Essential Duties—Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support the coordination of training programs, needs assessments, and performance tracking, focusing on improving skills for current roles and future potential, often involving logistical support, facilitating sessions, managing learning platforms, and analyzing training effectiveness to boost individual and organizational performance.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and in-processing of new employees.
- Work closely with other human resources personnel, Hiring Managers and Talent Acquisition teams to understand needs and align screening strategies for applicants.
- Screen resumes, applications, and cover letters against job requirements using established criteria.
- Provide feedback and summaries of screened candidates to Hiring Managers and Interview Committees.
- Assists in the recruitment process, schedules interviews with selected candidates and prepares required documents.
- Initiate and review background checks, criminal records, employment, and credential verification.
- Contact candidate references to verify work history and performance.
- Research, analyze, and recommend departmental procedures for the development of human resources policies and procedures.
- Assist in the administration of part-time payroll and contracts, as needed.
- Support payroll operations by gathering data, maintaining accurate time records (including leave and overtime), assisting with audits, and helping with fiscal year-end processes.
- Prepare administrative memoranda and statistical data reports to document ongoing KPI progress for Human Resources & Talent Development.
- Assist in developing, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining human resources policies, practices, and procedures.
- Support the coordination and scheduling of professional development for FTCC faculty and staff.
- Assist with the processing of changes and ongoing maintenance of FTCC’s Administrative Procedures & Employment Manual, Organizational Handbook, Academic Procedures & Faculty Manual, Student Handbook, and College Catalog.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Assist with DDI training for hiring managers and potential interview panel members, as needed.
- Serve as an agent for the US Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system with authority to verify all documents for compliance with the E-Verify process and Federal standards.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information in both paper and electronic filing systems.
- Conduct studies, assemble information, and identify problems related to human resources-related guidelines, institutional procedures and accreditation standards.
- Respond to requests for information from employees, the administration, outside agencies, and the public assuring compliance with federal and state public records laws.
- Complete verification of employment requests from outside agencies.
- Provide assistance to applicants and FTCC employees, as appropriate.
- Participate in special projects or other duties, as assigned.
