Description

Cumberland County Christian School was founded in 2011 by Dr. Jessica D. Respus with a mission to deliver individualized, innovative, and faith-based education. As the school began serving a growing number of neurodivergent students, Beyond the Spectrum Institute was established in 2024 to offer a specialized learning environment tailored to students with autism and other exceptional needs.

What began with roughly 40 students in a modest 4,648-square-foot facility quickly transformed into a high-demand regional resource. As inquiries poured in and the waitlist expanded, the Institute scaled rapidly to a nearly 22,000-square-foot campus serving over 120 students.

This innovative model quickly captured national attention. Beyond the Spectrum Institute was featured on the educational series Empowered, hosted by Meg Ryan, with a media crew filming on campus to highlight its trailblazing work.

The Institute offers cutting-edge, comprehensive programming, including:

● In-House Therapy & Support: Exceptional Children’s (EC) services, speech, occupational, and physical therapy, adaptive physical education, and tailored sensory supports.

● Innovative Technology: Interactive RoboKind autism robots that strengthen social-emotional and communication skills, as well as virtual-reality learning paired with visual schedules.

Boasting a 98% student retention rate and ongoing demand from hundreds of local families, Beyond the Spectrum Institute has established itself as an essential educational cornerstone for exceptional learners across Fayetteville and surrounding communities.
