Heavy Diesel Mechanic/CDL Instructor

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this position. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The faculty member must instruct assigned courses in accordance with NCCCS curriculum standards and course descriptions in addition to the standards and guidelines set forth by the program accreditation entity. Courses may be scheduled for day, evening, or weekends and in FTCC’s service area high schools. FTCC views faculty members as learning-facilitators who actively engage students in the learning process.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent,
  • Trade certifications will be considered in lieu of degree
  • At least three (5) years of work experience in the trade
  • Organized and possess multitasking skills
  • Excellent oral, auditory, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality, credibility and professionalism
  • Hold a CDL “A” w/P endorsement for the last 3 years
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of teaching experience in the subject area.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
