MEET WANDA WALKER
Wanda Walker is a North Carolina native of the Robeson County town of Fairmont. She and her husband Carl are the proud parents of three adult children, and two of their children are following in their father’s footsteps by serving in the U.S. military. Three of life’s greatest joys for Wanda come from their three grandchildren!
For more than 20 years, the Army decided where the Walkers would call home. Sometimes home was the south or the Midwest, one time it was the west coast, and there were times when home was overseas. The Walker family finally had a choice in 1994 and they chose Fayetteville as their home. They were initially drawn to Fayetteville because of its proximity to family and all things familiar, including Fort Bragg. Other draws to this area for them included proximity to beaches, the mountains, educational opportunities, major medical facilities, and UNC-Chapel Hill (where their daughter was a student and the entire family are die-hard fans!).
Wanda Walker retired from the Department of Defense after 28 years of federal civilian service; she knew she had to be loyal to her calling of serving others and joined Townsend Real Estate. As the second oldest sibling in a family of 9, responsibility is not new to Wanda! Remembering her own journey to home ownership is one of the motivators why Wanda wants to empower others to take steps to acquire and maintain financial well-being through property ownership.
