MISSION STATEMENT
Sweet Tea Shakespeare gathers diverse communities around a common table to delight in the magic of story, song, and stagecraft.

WHO WE ARE
Sweet Tea Shakespeare is a 501(c)3 theatre and music company, community, and training ground dedicated to creating an inclusive and engaging space for artists and audiences alike. Inspired by the work and playmaking spirit of Shakespeare, we take joy in innovative approaches that pay homage to the past while looking to the future. We develop resourceful, elemental, magical events that embody our belief in the power of connection and transformation.

VALUE STATEMENT
Our region is blooming with newcomers, arriving via military orders as well as for civilian work, adding to the culture and life of our community. At the same time, many long-time locals may feel disconnected due to recent changes brought about by COVID-19. As a member of the community, we are committed to bringing everyone together – old faces or new – so that each individual feels comfortable calling this place home. To bridge this gap, we must focus our attention on providing artists and the community with experiences, community, and connection.

Sweet Tea Shakespeare is dedicated to creating an environment for people and communities to connect with each other through shared experiences. We strive to provide creative outlets in our region, making life more exciting, fulfilling, and inspiring by helping create “third spaces” that help create connections and strengthen community bonds
