DESCRIPTION:Join us for our first event of 2023!\n\n*Date changed due to NYE Holiday. BNB will return to every first Tuesday beginning in February.\n\n\n\nWe will hear from speaker Warren Hahn\, Race Director for the Kiwanis Club of the Cape Fear Foundation's All-American Soap Box Derby race to be conducted on April 29\, 2023. The event will be held at Crown Expo Center on E. Mountain Dr. Fayetteville\, NC. The races will be held annually on the last weekend of April each year.\n \nThe Soap Box Derby is a family oriented event that is gravity racing at its best. There are two classes: Stock for children ages 7-13\, and Super Stock for children ages 9-18. The Children build their cars from kits purchased through the Soap Box Derby online store.\n\nThe last sanctioned race held in Fayetteville is believed to be 1973. The winner of each class will be eligible to compete in the international Soap Box Derby held in Akron\, Ohio.\n\n \n\nThe Grand Marshall for this event will be Bobby Spears\, the 1947 winner of the Fayetteville\, Soap Box Derby.. Bobby is 87 years young and excited to be part of bringing the derby back to Fayetteville.\n\n \n\nWe currently have openings for racer participants in Stock & Super Stock classes\, supporter sponsors\, trophy sponsors\, and co-event sponsorship.
