What would Halloween be without, probably the most popular Halloween song of all time, Michael Jackson's THRILLER dance! It is well-known throughout the world and is the most danced piece of choreography in history. It is known for its pelvic thrusts, hand claps, head movements, and the signature side-to-side hand raise. The dance also includes zombie walks, monster hands, and finger-pointing. Michael Jackson was inspired by James Brown, whom he called "the master" and "genius".
The MONSTER MASH dance is a parody of the 1960s Mashed Potato dance. The dance includes a heel-toe action, where you start with your heels together and toes pointed out, then quickly point your toes together while keeping your heels out. Here are some other steps in the Monster Mash dance. The song was written by Bobby Pickett and Leonard Capizzi in 1962. The song is about a mad scientist who throws a party for monsters at his castle, and the Monster Mash becomes the hit of the party. The song is known for its spooky, infectious, and ghoulish fun, and is synonymous with Halloween.
