The event will be held at Crown Expo Center on E. Mountain Dr. Fayetteville, NC. The races will be held annually on the last weekend of April each year.

The Soap Box Derby is a family oriented event that is gravity racing at its best. There are two classes: Stock for children ages 7-13, and Super Stock for children ages 9-18. The Children  build their cars from kits purchased through the Soap Box Derby online store.
The last sanctioned race held in Fayetteville is believed to be 1973. The winner of each class will be eligible to compete in the international Soap Box Derby held in Akron, Ohio.

The Grand Marshall for this event will be Bobby Spears, the 1947 winner of the Fayetteville, Soap Box Derby.. Bobby is 87 years young and excited to be part of bringing the derby back to Fayetteville.
