About Rick Herrema Foundation

The Rick Herrema Foundation (RHF) is dedicated to building community and strengthening relationships within the Military Family through engaging, quality activities. RHF’s programs focus on bringing families together through art, animal interactions, camps, and family-focused events, providing a safe space for relaxation and connection. With future plans to introduce horses for family bonding and stress relief, RHF is continuously enhancing its offerings.

Mission

RHF exists to serve the Military Family by providing enriching, recreational activities that foster unity, support, and friendship.

Rick’s Place

Located just 5.5 miles from Fort Liberty, Rick’s Place is a 50-acre green space offering free access for military families and their supporters. Open from dawn until dusk, the park is designed as a welcoming, supportive environment with seasonal hours:

• Spring & Fall: 8AM - 6PM
• Summer: 8AM - 8PM
• Winter: 8AM - 5PM

In honor of Sergeant 1st Class Richard J. Herrema, who was known for his deep commitment to others, Rick’s Place preserves his legacy of service, kindness, and dedication. Rick’s compassion and loyalty left an enduring impact on all who knew him, and his spirit inspires RHF’s mission.
